is there an arg?
first of all: whenever this topic is brought up on both tumblr and youtube, i tend to reply in character. this page is entirely out of character.
second of all: the youtube videos, sure. the tumblr blog — read below.
third of all: it depends on your definition of "arg".
for those who don't know, ARG is short for Alternate Reality Game. i consider my stuff unfiction more than ARG due to this — there's not much interactivity or game about it, though i guess you can interact with me on tumblr through tags, text additions and asks or on youtube through comments, but i tend to not respond to any that would require out-of-character responses. it seems like the minecraft community doesn't particularly discern between "arg" or "unfiction" though, and largely treat them as the same thing.
the youtube videos are definently intended to tell a story. there's a few things hidden in them, whether they're codes or just small details that help tell a story. the minecraft posting on my tumblr blog, under the tag #icarus plays minecraft, has been going on for far longer than i've posted videos, but some of those screenshots and posts do happen on the server/world the youtube videos are about. some of it is definetly me leaning into my game generally being glitchy and weird, while others are just that: my game being weird and glitchy. whether you want to take them in the same context as the youtube videos are up to you, but they generally are just me posting about playing minecraft. those that feature the server/world do definently add more context, but there's also a lot that are just my own singleplayer worlds (usually lightly modded in some way, while the server/world is vanilla).
i just like playing minecraft and posting about it. that's most of what i'm doing on my blog. it's not really intended to be unfiction or arg. it's up to you whether you want to include it with the youtube videos or not. i personally don't, but art is in the eye of the beholder, i suppose.
the colored boxes in my tumblr bio can be deciphered into something. they both lead to the same place, they're just to show two seperate ways of encoding text into hex codes, but are a seperate unfiction/'arg' story from my youtube videos.
tl;dr: youtube videos yes. tumblr blog is just me posting about minecraft as i play and leaning into the glitchyness of my game. something something every game copy is personalised (all my logs are full of "Received passengers for unknown entity", which i find very funny. here's my latest log if you wanna see that for yourself).
